Chipping away
Hey everyone,
I can’t believe the first quarter of the year is already gone!
I have twice as much to update you in this newsletter as I didn’t send one last month because I was in Thailand 🇹🇠for WordCamp Asia.
Apologies for the low resolution image, but here’s a picture of a dinner I hosted on the last night of WCAsia with friends I deeply admire and respect from the WordPress community.
Aside from the amazing food, the highlight of WordCamp for me was being able to meet people I’ve only ever interacted with online from all over the world. The organising team did an outstanding job, and I’m already excited for next year’s WordCamp Asia in Taipei.
WP Publisher Sessions
I’ve also started a new YouTube livestream series on publishing called WP Publisher Sessions together with Pete Ericson of Leaky Paywall and Steve Burge of PublishPress.
All three of us work with thousands of publishers. And our goal with these sessions is to share everything we’re learning about the growth, monetisation, and business strategies that are working right now in the publishing business.

A new homepage video
I made a new homepage video!
It’s about the shift towards subscriptions and how newsletters are key to this strategy.

Better support
Finally, we’ve also hired an amazing new technical support specialist, Marho Atumu, who has been doing a great job. You might have interacted with him if you’ve reached out for support in the past month or so.
Product updates 🧰
For the past couple of months, we’ve been heads down making lots of tiny improvements and bug fixes.
We also created a new way to request support and provide admin access to help speed up support tickets. We’re still iterating on this though as the current version is a little too wordy.
